Athlete Positioning
- Knee angle
- 90◦ Single leg squat/lunge
- 110◦ Single leg squat/lunge
- 140◦ Single leg squat/lunge
- Rear foot can be on the floor or elevated
Coach Positioning
- Kneeled beside athlete to ensure proper single leg squat form and maximal effort is produced
- A second coach may need to be present in front of athlete to help stabilize and ensure proper starting position
Set Up
- Secure belt around waist
- Find squat angle (Coach uses a goniometer to ensure accuracy), with appropriate length of chain
- Secure gStrength when ready to perform test
- Attach device to platform
- Attach device to athlete
Prepare to Test
- Select device, select athlete (if athlete is not entered do it now), select test.
- Tare device to ensure proper reading
To Test
- Athlete is in proper single leg squat/lunge stance on the platform, with no slack in chain
- Athlete will actively drive both feet through platform, producing maximal force through knee joint for 3-5 seconds
- Relax athlete after 3-5 seconds of maximal effort
